Work Suggestion
Don't work with your mom. I work with my mom now. She's been working here for 25 years and counting. So everyone, employees and customers, all know and adore her. In case anything changes by the time you read this, here is a grocery store. A pretty small one considering Giant is down the block. But it's very Latin and homey. As a result, all the employees know me and all the customers are getting to know me. It's super nice there. But seriously? My mom is down my back all the time. She babies me and acts as if I can't do things on my own. Mind you, she works as a purchasing agent downstairs in our office. I'm in the actual store as a cashier. But she still comes up and checks on me and tells me things I already know. It's demeaning, I'll be honest. I don't recommend working with Mommy. Mind you, your Mommy is cool, so I doubt she'd ever get to that point. But you know, Mommies are protective. Sometimes they can't separate home and work. Now, this does not mean don't work with anyone you know Let's be honest, this is my first job and I would not have it were it not for my mother. Everyone gets their first job based on connections, there is no shame in that. You just have to make sure it's someone you will actually be able to work with.
